OCAD Internship 2003 @ Yasmine Louis Textile Printing

OCAD University Internship 2003 @ Yasmine Louis Textile Printing in Toronto
In First Semester of Forth Year at OCAD University in the Material Art and Design department as part of the 4-year Bachelor of Design we were required to complete an internship with an approved designer. My professor recommended I  apply to work for Yasmine as I was interested in print design, her area of expertise. After the interview process including an evaluation of my third year portfolio and silk-screen work she asked that I spend one day per week in the studio for the length of the semester. At the successful completion of the 3month internship each student was required to prepare and present a powerpoint of our internship experience to our class of about 40 students and graded not only on our employer's evaluation but our presentation of the experience to our professors and peers.

Below are some pictures I took with a 35mm camera of the studio where I worked for my presentation.

I am thankful to Yasmine for the opportunity I had to learn from her and carried some of the skills, especially the office administration skills, into other parts of my life specifically my desire to pursue graduate studies in business over design.

Note: I did not design any of the artwork in these pictures, I was a student assistant to the designer. Any of the objects belonging to other artists and designers were just part of the decor in her studio.
